About HCA Virginia Sports Medicine

We specialize in primary care sports medicine for all ages and physical activity levels—including weekend tennis players, high school soccer teams, marathon runners and professional football players. Our goal is helping patients return to their sport or activity as quickly as possible, with the lowest risk of re-injury. To help meet that goal, our outdoor assessment field is used for testing athletes and patients in simulated game conditions, with dedicated areas for soccer, basketball, tennis, track and baseball. Whatever your needs are, we can help you maximize your athletic potential.

Free high school sports injury clinic

During the fall sports season, HCA Virginia Sports Medicine offers a free sports injury clinic for high school athletes every Saturday morning after the regularly scheduled Friday Varsity Football games. This Saturday Morning Injury Clinic (SMIC) is for injuries incurred in the previous seven days or follow-up for injuries previously seen by our physicians.

The SMIC is open to all fall sports athletes in the area, regardless of school affiliation. The initial on-site evaluation by a sports medicine physician and any emergency or acute injury treatment by the certified athletic trainers are free. Charges will be made if an X-ray or other tests, braces or other soft goods are recommended and you decide to purchase them at our facility.
